Light Shining out of Darkness

God moves in a mysterious way,

His wonders to perform;

He plants his footsteps in the sea,

And rides upon the storm.

Deep in unfathomable mines

Of never-failing skill,

He treasures up his bright designs,

And works his sov’reign will.

Ye fearful saints, fresh courage take,

The clouds ye so much dread

Are big with mercy, and shall break

In blessings on your head.

Judge not the Lord by feeble sense,

But trust him for his grace;

Behind a frowning providence

He hides a smiling face.

His purposes will ripen fast,

Unfolding ev’ry hour;

The bud may have a bitter taste,

But sweet will be the flow’r.

Blind unbelief is sure to err,

And scan his work in vain;

God is his own interpreter,

And he will make it plain.

William Cowper

Since I’ve began writing on this blog and following other blogs, a common human struggle has revealed itself repeatedly. The struggle to maintain a positive outlook through difficult times. Optimism, hope, and faith seem hard to come by in these trying times.

Amazing thing is, only by giving it away do we receive it ourselves.

By sharing pleasant words, warm wishes, and inspiration with others, we give a gift that keeps on giving. To bring hope into someone’s world brings meaning to ours. It reaffirms our own optimism.

It is completely unnecessary for this to be so elusive to us.

The internet provides a platform to collaborate with billions, not only sharing knowledge, but to extend your hand, to let each other know we are not alone. To share Love.

Tough times never last, but tough people do!

  2. Beautiful sentiments, Troy. I meant your words (though the poem is also enlightening). Peace, Eric
