Do You Have the Time?

I got up early one morning
And rushed right into the day
I had so much to accomplish
That I didn’t have time to pray.

Problems just tumbled about me
And heavier came each task
Why doesn’t God help me?” I wondered
He answered, “You didn’t ask.”

I wanted to see joy and beauty
But the day toiled on, grey and bleak
I wondered why God didn’t show me
He said, “But you didn’t seek.”

I tried to come into God’s presence
I used all my keys at the lock
God gently and lovingly chided
“My child, you didn’t knock.”

I woke up early this morning
And paused before entering the day
I had so much to accomplish
That I had to take time to pray.

Will you take the time to pray today? It takes patience. I requires persistence. It needs faith, hope, and love.

Prayer is NOT a religious ritual.

It is a deeply personal exercise that will plant the seed of willingness in one’s heart. Willingness to accept life on life’s terms.

Prayers won’t always seem to be answered, and sometimes you may get exactly what you wished you hadn’t. It requires a humility to realize that the plans the universe have for you may be different, may be better than what you plan for yourself.

If you take the time, take the action of actually praying – results will follow.

When a doc prescribes a pill, do you have to want to take it? Do you have to believe it will work? Do you have to like taking the pill?

If you take it as prescribed, results will follow.

Begin a daily habit of prayer. There is no right way to do it, just as long as you do it.

One more thing to remember – do not pray by heart, but with heart.

Tough times never last, but tough people do!

  1. I hadda chat this morning with the universe 🙂 (that’s what I do…)

  2. I had a chat this morning with the maker of the universe. That’s what I do.

  3. Thank you so much for this post – this is what I needed to read today!

  4. Awesome post Troy, I have the same conversations and couldn’t imagine not starting my day without them.

  5. I always find that praying comes more easily to me at night, but maybe starting my day off with some prayer or meditation would be a good change of pace.

  6. Ha. Exactly what I needed to do today. From the minute I left the house until I got home tonight my day has been ….difficult. But I had not engaged with the Universe before I left home – I just plunged into the day. Thank you for this. Very timely.
